Your pet’s safety is our highest priority. While most retail or online pharmacies claim they are safe, the unfortunate reality is that the majority do not have any veterinary training and are not capable of understanding the nuances of species-specific drug use that your pet may need. Each pharmacist at our online pharmacy is trained in veterinary pharmacology to ensure they can perform a prescription Drug Utilization Review (DUR) on an animal and are in sync with your prescribing veterinarian.

So why is Vet-VIPPS accreditation so important?

Veterinary VIPPS accreditation was developed in 2009 by the National Board of Pharmacies in response to the growing threat of fake and dangerous medicines being sold online. It offers the highest protection for consumers. The Harmony online pharmacy powered by Vetsource is locate in Oregon. It is a human-grade institutional pharmacy that is veterinary specific, licensed, and meets or exceeds the regulatory requirements in all 50 states. How do I refill a prescription or special order for pick up?

  • Plan ahead. Some suppliers do not provide next day service to our hospital for specialty items.
  • Place our refill request at least seven business days ahead of when you would like to pick up your prescription or products. This time required to provide your veterinarian time to review your pet’s medical record, make sure no changes are needed to the prescription, and approve the refill.
  • For the safety of your pet, certain medications require blood testing and checkups at specific intervals for your pet to continue the medication

Your veterinarian will send their prescription and product recommendations to you via e-mail. When you receive the email all you will need to do is click on the link and the product will be waiting for you in our online pharmacy. Simply complete the order and have the therapies you discussed with your veterinarian shipped right to your door.

What if I can’t find what I am looking for?

Specialty products, some food and complementary medicine product may not be found in our store at this time. We are happy to special order food and any other medications. Please be aware some of our suppliers do not provide next day service to our hospital. Please place your refill request at least seven business days ahead of when you would like to pick up your prescription or products.

Can I return a prescription?

As all our medications are regulated by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) we are subject to the same dispensing laws as human pharmacies. Any prescription medication that has left the hospital or online pharmacy, regardless of if the product has been opened or not, CANNOT BE RETURNED.

Please remember that Heartgard is a prescription item and falls under these regulations.
