Alyssa has been interested in veterinary medicine since she was five years old. She even went as a vet on career day in first grade! Young Alyssa walked her neighbors’ dogs for free, she just wanted to be around them. She has her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and has grown professionally since. Alyssa started as a daycare attendant, and managed a dog daycare and pet boarding facility before joining us at Harmony Veterinary Center. Her goals moving forward are to continue her education at veterinary school and learn how to best serve the pets in our community.
“My favorite part about working at Harmony are my supportive coworkers, and it’s really cool to be a part of treatment when it’s your own pets,” Alyssa says. Recently, her 7 year old cat Xena decided to try not one, not two, but four chocolate cupcakes! Xena was rushed in and Alyssa was able to see behind the scenes of how much HVC staff cared for her fluffy girl. Luckily, Xena seems to have an iron stomach and will (hopefully) not be eating any more human sweets.
Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys watching horror movies, playing video games, cooking, and traveling. In addition to Xena the hungry cat, she owns a smart yet grumpy rescue dog, Kiloh.
