PVT
Like many people in the veterinary field, Katie’s love for animals stated at a young age. This developed into a true passion after she rehabilitated a duckling and an injured baby bird, and Katie decided to turn her passion into a career. “Those were two key points growing up where I felt how rewarding it was to see animals be hurt, but get better and go on to live in the wild.”
Katie then studied Animal Science at Michigan State University, and worked in an animal hospital as a receptionist before working toward the veterinary technician role. She may someday pursue veterinary school, but for now Katie is currently studying with Appalachian State University to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology and obtain the Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification.
At Harmony Veterinary Center, Katie works with various doctors to see patients, anywhere from annual wellness exams to an animal with diarrhea or even a furry friend who ate something that they weren’t supposed to. She enjoys her daily responsibilities that allow her to learn more every day and find a healthy work-life balance. In particular, Katie values the personalized care at Harmony and strives to provide this to every patient she meets.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending most of her time outdoors, hiking, backpacking, and snowboarding. She lives with her fiancé and two huskies, Kita and Loki, who love joining her on her adventures.
