Rachel Hawkridge

Customer Service Advocate

Once, Rachel did a double take while driving, thinking she saw a pig crossing the road. It was indeed a Pot Bellied Pig, and Rachel, who always keeps leashes, dog treats and horse halters in her car, was able to lure the intelligent, social creature off the road and return him safely home. It was just another day in the life of this animal lover who has been assisting pets in one way or another for over twenty years.

Rachel’s biggest passion is helping senior pet owners in any way she can. Whether it’s taking extra time to explain a diagnosis or treatment, or driving a pet to an appointment, she shares, “I have a special place in my heart as I know how important pets are for their senior pet parents. I visited senior centers with one of my Boston Terriers for pet therapy and loved seeing the residents’ faces light up when they received a visit.”

Prior to joining Harmony, Rachel was a Client Service Representative and Patient Account Representative at Wheatridge Animal Hospital. She also served as the Executive Director of the Colorado Horse Rescue for four years and sat on their board of directors. She has a long-history of volunteering with additional animal rescues, including MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue and Hope for Animals, assisting with transport, home visits and pet therapy visits. She specializes in fostering senior and special needs dogs and horses.

Rachel lives with her husband, Tim, Clementine (a Boston Terrier), Big Al (an Olde English Bulldogge), and three equines: Rosie the Draft Mule, Sparkles the Pony, and Candy, a Rocky Mountain Horse. When not checking patients in and out of the clinic, she enjoys hitting the trails with her horses or dogs, exploring the mountains with her husband in their two,1949 Jeep Willys and reading mysteries.
