Veterinarian
Dr. Alison Hazel has been involved in companion pet care for over 20 years. She received her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1992, where she concentrated in small animal and avian/exotic pets. After veterinary school, Dr. Hazel worked at Liverpool Animal Health Center, in Upstate New York, practicing small animal medicine and eventually became co-owner. There she managed personnel, financial, and medical aspects of a busy 6-doctor hospital. She is interested in all aspects of wellness care including behavior and senior care.
In 2005, Dr. Hazel relocated to Colorado where she works as a relief veterinarian and can be found at several practices around the Denver Metro Area. She volunteers as the veterinarian for Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Longmont, which cares for over 2,000 wild animals a year. She and her family currently live in Golden with their dog, Morris, and their cat, Magnum. She enjoys reading, hiking, and working for wildlife conservation issues.
Dr. Hazel is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Colorado Veterinary Medical Society, Denver Area Audubon Society, and the American Prairie Reserve and is also on the Board of Directors of Greenwood Wildlife Center.
