Meet Willow, one of the 2013 Colorado flood survivors our team helped get back on her feet. Willow was spotted after the flood starving, injured and in pretty bad shape. She had become stranded on the wild side of the river in Clear Creek Canyon. Thanks to some good Samaritans, and Clear Creek County Animal Control she was rescued.
When she was rescued Willow was 12 years old, close to starving to death, had multiple painful broken teeth, advanced arthritis, and was diagnosed with an untreatable cancer. She was able to live out her days in a hospice foster home in the mountains. Thanks to The Lexie Fund she maintained a healthy pain free mouth, had pain medication for her arthritis, and live out her days in comfort.
